Fortimail user alias

Hello Fortimail admins,

I created a user alias that forwards to multiple people including me.
When I send/reply with that alias in CC, I also receive the email.
Is there a way to prevent that?

Kind regards,

CL

Hi CL

This is the normal behavior. Since you are in the group it is like when you send an e-mail to yourself, so you have to receive it.

Hello AEK,

I understand that this is how the feature is designed, but I’m trying to see if there’s a way to avoid this behavior, perhaps another feature that provides the same functionality as a user alias without sending the email back to me.

Kind regards,

You can try to configure a recipient exclusion as an inbound policy, to bypass the email delivery, something similar to this: Technical Tip: How to configure exclusion policy for a recipient address

If you have found a solution, please like and accept it to make it easily accessible for others.

Hello Emirjon,

This feature is intended to bypass inspection for certain emails, and I don’t see how it applies to my case. Could you please clarify how this could work?

Kind regards,
