Hello FML admins,
I am currently testing the Mail Migration feature in FortiMail to migrate email data from Gmail to FortiMail.
I have followed the procedures outlined in the following documentation:
However, I consistently encounter an “Authentication failed” error during the migration process.
Could you please confirm if there are any additional configurations or permissions that need to be set on the Gmail side to allow FortiMail to perform the migration successfully?
Any tips would be much appreciated.
Kind regards,

Hi CL1
If you are trying to use gmail password to autenticate from an application (FortiMail in this case) then it will probably not work, because gmail doesn't allow you to use your password as a single authentication factor.
Try with app password instead, as described below, and it should work.
I know.. it is boring and time consuming.

Hello AEK,
Thank you for your answer.
I've already configured the app password, it was a mistake in my end, I was typing an extra letter in the app password that's why the authentication was failing.
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards,
