Fortilink from HA Fortigates to individual fortiswitches

How do we go about using fortilinks from an HA pair of fortigates to 2 standalone fortiswitches? The switches are connected with an lacp trunk between them, but when I tried to use ports in fortilink on the fortigates I lost all connectivity (due to a loop I assume).

If I understand well you are in this topology (with FortiLink hardware-switch):

In this case you need on FG to enable STP on each FortiLink hardware-switch interface, as mentioned in the document.
