Hi All,
I'm looking at a configuration where I have 2 standalone Fortigates (not configured as HA pair) and a fortiswitch which has FortiAPs connected.
Is it possible to configure Fortilink from each Fortigate to the switch to allow the switch to be managed from both fortigates with one Fortilink having higher priority over the other or is it the case of using VRRP between the Fortigates and Fortiswitch?
Regards
Adrian
Hey Adrian,
In my experience, you can’t actually manage a FortiSwitch from two standalone FortiGates at the same time, even with separate FortiLinks. Only one FortiGate can act as the FortiLink manager.
If you need redundancy without HA, VRRP could handle the failover side, it’s open and works fine between standalone FortiGates, but the switch management itself will still be tied to one FortiGate.
