Fortigate - use same local user for administration and SSL VPN

Hello,

is it somehow possible to use the same user, for the administration of the Fortigate, and also for SSL VPN Access? I can't find any option for that, I only can specify, the same user name as local user, in System - Administrators, and also in Users & Authentication - User definition.

I would like to have the same user, to use the same Token.

Thanks in advance! Best regards

You certainly can add Administrator type user to the User Group you use in the VPN SSL rules as a source.

First you create administrator user, then you add it to the VPN SSL group.

The answer is: No, you cannot use the same entity in both places.

VPN users come from the local user group, admins from System/Administrators.

But...

in contrast to Windows, using the same name and password effectively makes both users identical. The only downside is that you need to maintain 2 user records.
