Fortigate Split-Task VDOM will be removed?

Hello guys, I played a bit around with the Split-Task VDOM Option on a new Fortigate we received. However I just read the following in another forum post: "Just a side note, not an answer to your questions, the Split Task mode was discontinued in the FortiOS 7.2, and will no longer be available"

Does anyone know if this is true? Will the Split-Task VDOM Option be no longer available with 7.2?
Thanks!

Hello

Yes it is true. But no worries if you have to upgrade to 7.2, your split-task vdoms will be converted automatically to multi-vdoms.

Thanks! Do you maybe know how the VDOM Licensing works? Do I need a seperate license for that? Or do you have a certain number to use for free?

AEK

You can create up to 10 VDOMs for free. Beyond 10 VDOMs you need a license.

Just to supplement @AEK 's post: all models below FG1000x(x=D,E,F) supports only 10 VDOMs. If you need to add more, you need to have a 1000x or above model.
And, 10 VDOMs include "root" vdom, which is always there. So you can add upto 9 VDOMs with "mutivdom" on those models that support 10 VDOMs.
