Fortigate HA & FortiSwitch MC-LAG stopped working

Two Fortigates with two distribution switches in MC-LAG and three sets of access switches in a ring configuration.  See diagram.  After upgrading all firmware from 6.2 to 6.4, redundancy stopped working.  There seems to be a loop somewhere.  If all redundancy links are plugged in, ping stops.  If I remove redundancy link, pings continues.  There are also two Fortiswitches connected to the WAN ports not in diagram.  What could be the possible reason for this?
