Fortigate DHCP Server with DDNS to allow FQDN connectivity to leased IP's

Hi all,

Just wondering if and how DHCP-Client updates to local DNS-Servers will work in FOS 5.4.x. Found the following note

(from https://docs.fortinet.com...gate-networking-54.pdf)

FortiGate DHCP works with DDNS to allowFQDN connectivity to leased IPs (267043) Asclients are assigned IPaddresses, they send back information that would be found in an Arecord to the FortiGate's DHCPserver, which can take this information and passes it back to a corporate DNSserver so that even devices using leased IPaddresscan be reached using FQDNs. The settingsfor thisfeature are configured through the CLI using the ddns-update command and some otherddnsrelated options.

Has anybody used this command "set ddns-update_ovverride enable" in a producation environment?

config system dhcp server

edit 0

set ddns-update_override [enable | disable]

end

Thanks a lot for an answer
