Anyone interested in the hardware on a FortiWiFi 50E here it is. Interesting it's using a dual core Armada ARM chip.

Is 40E a typo? There was no 40E family released.

It's referenced in 5.4 documents.

I think that's a typo,I don't recall any 40E shipping or in the channel yet. This could be a 50E. There's also no code listed for 40E in 5.4 either.

The 50 and even 51E are SMB class firewalls that fit below the 60D and provided a cheaper solution. I have a 50E on order and hope to have it soon and will give a update on this model vrs my FWF60D

Why is there no info on the Fortinet web site about the new "E" line? It's mentioned all over the 5.4 release notes and you seem to be able to order them as you just said.

What are it's specs? Can the 50E or 51E do "DNS Server"? DNS Server is vital for remote offices connected by VPN as it allows split DNS for internal/external resolution of domain names.

Yes, E models do support DNS server.

Nice! Thanks for info. My FN rep just got back with me and we have a call later today. This could be great as I was about to order a couple 60D's for some really small offices that need brought into the fold.
