Do you mean using FortiExplorer through USB cable ? it should support it. Thanks.
Hi Jeff_FTNT,
Thank you for the asnwer.
Like you can see in this pdf: https://www.fortinet.com/sites/default/files/productdatasheets/FortiGate-30E.pdf.
Fortigate only have a usb port but isn't a management port.
Can i use Fortiexplorer via this port? How?
Thanks,
Yes, you can use it, install FortiExploer on your desktop, connect PC with FGT using USB cable. Thanks
I used fortiexplorer for a lot of fortigate that i installed before.
But the connection always was usb a (my pc) to a usb b or mini usb.
The usb port of fortigate 30E is usb a.
Yes, you are right, this FG-30E have only on USB A.
It have "Console " port too. I did not have FG-30E on hand, you may try it with USB A cable on both side. Thanks.
I've just had the same issue and asked Fortinet Support about this.
This was their reply:
"
Given quick start guide is correct, you can use FortiExplorer to manage and configure E models like 30E, 50E, 80D and others. For this models only supported FortiExplorer application is one available on iOs devices. This information is already referenced in unit datasheet available here: https://www.fortinet.com/...i_50E_Series.pdf For such reason units were equipped with USB type A port. By such you will connect one end of the cable to the unit itself, another end will go directly to your phone or tablet where FortiExplorer application is installed.
"
So according to Fortinet, it should be clear from the message below (from datasheet), that the device only supports FortiExplorer on iOS
"
The FortiExplorer wizard enables easy setup and configuration coupled with easy-to-follow instructions. FortiExplorer runs on popular mobile devices like Android and iOS. Using FortiExplorer is as simple as starting the application and connecting to the appropriate USB port on the FortiGate. By using FortiExplorer, you can be up and running and protected in minutes.
