Is it really a "OUT OF BAND" interface?
The route should not appear in the routing table
I haven't done it with a standalone setup (always a-p HA) and we don't have 300 series (200D, 1000D, 1500D). But any model with "MGMT" port(s) should support "config system dedicated-mgmt" command below:
https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/6.0.0/cli-reference/303733/system-dedicated-mgmt
so that you can set the mgmt network's default GW, which should mean it doesn't show up user (root) routing table. With HA, it automatically does that so we don't have to configure "config system dedicated-mgmt", but configure it in "config system ha".
If you already have one, you can try above. If you're still considering purchasing it, ask sales/reseller. They should be able to verify with FTNT SE.
