Fortigate 100D LACP bundle

Can the fortigate 100D handle a 2GB LACP bundle across two cables? Assuming I would just setup WAN1 and WAN2 as a Virtual Wire Pair from the GUI?

hi,

according to the "Fortigate Feature Matrix v5.4" https://docs.fortinet.com/uploaded/files/2805/SWMATRIX-540-201602-R10.pdf the 100D is the first FGT which offers LACP. IMHO this does not depend on the version of FortiOS.

So reading around this, its supported on the WAN1/2 and HA1/2 ports. Would it just be setup via a virtual pair then? From the GUI, i'm not good with the CLI

Hi,

a virtual wire pair is something completely different and has nothing to do with LACP. It is used for Layer2 Firewalling within a Layer 3 VDOM.

On the 100D I think LACP is only supported on the internal ports as there is a special switching chipset. I used it a lot on this box and it works fine!

Yes it can handle it. To do the agg you would create a new interface of type 802.3ad which includes the two physical ports you want aggregated into a bundle.  The virtual wire pair is completely different. Here's the info on that: http://cookbook.fortinet.com/creating-a-virtual-wire-pair-54/
