Forticlient stuck at 40% - connection could not be established.

Hi Guys.

In our company we got 2 fortigates running and SSLVPN is configured.

Everything is working because when I am testing it; it work (ofc)

When one of the other employees tries to connect, it is also working, but when a few specific users try to connect they stuck at 40%.

When I use that peron's credentials on my client, no problems at all.

I tried to disable the firewall;

I tried to allow the specific pports and client but nothing worked.

Anyone any idea?

You mentioned two FortiGates. Are both FortiClients, yours and the other person's, set to connect the same FortiGate? Is the authentication local or remote, such as RADIUS, TACACS, LDAP? Are those both client machines are Windows or Mac?

If everything is the same between two client machines, I would reboot the non-working machine a couple of times, then set up taking local debug log to analyze at the FortiClient if still doesn't go beyond the 40% point.

I fixed it.

Forticlient is relying on the tls settings in Microsoft IE. (which I found really strange).

I enabled tls and it is working like a charm.
