Forticlient renews registration constantly

I have an issue with Forticleint that has just popped up in the last week or so, without any configuration or version changes to either the FortiGate unit or the FortiClient agents. FortiClient is licensed, FWIW. Fortigate 5.2.0, FortiClient 5.2.x (depending on the client, though it doesn' t seem to matter). The issue is that the agents constantly re-register with the FortiGate. Like every three minutes or so. The logs on the FortiGate have " FortiClient registration renewed" and " Add a FortiClient Connection" entries for each of these re-registrations. This is occuring on both OSX and Windows clients. Has anyone else seen this, or know why it might be happening? It doesn' t seem to be causing any functional issues, I guess it' s just annoying.

I had to work around this by distributing some custom XML configs that turn of " bubble notifications" Beware- I" m running into some very funky/inconsistent behavior with locked down custom XML configs in FCT 5.2. Settings not being applied consistently, inability on Windows to unlock settings even if you have the lockdown password. YMMV (i' m doing a lot of config) but just do ample testing before you were to push out a large custom config just to fix this issue. TAC case open on the above....

This is a FortiOS issue, resolved in the upcoming 5.2.1 release. Suggested workaround is to reboot the FortiGate device. If this works, you may apply the following CLI commands: config system settings set discovered-device-timeout 365 end
