Forticlient remote update behavior

Hi,

we are testing to push Forticlient (6.4.2 to 6.4.8) from our EMS server (6.4.8) and are asking us:

Is it right, that the client gets uninstalled, the rebooted and afterwards installed? Which lets the client without VPN depending on the installation speed of the hardware. When we do an inplace upgrade directly on the client, then the software updates, reboots and done.

Is there any possibility to ask the user if he wants to install, and if acknowledge installs and forces reboot? If dismissed by the user, inform him that the install will be forced in x hours? It seems we can not configure that behavior with the EMS settings?

Thanks

Hi albstaten,

Is it right, that the client gets uninstalled, the rebooted and afterwards installed?

> Correct, this is indeed what supposed to be happen when deploy FCT upgrade from EMS.

Which lets the client without VPN depending on the installation speed of the hardware.
> Yes, this is true.

When we do an inplace upgrade directly on the client, then the software updates, reboots and done.
> When you run installer manually, the same thing happens: the new version won't be available until you reboot PC

Users can select when they want to do it, see "Notify Users and Let Them Decide When To Reboot When Users Are Logged In"
