Hello I have forticlient free version
When connect to vpn session by my credentials if I lock screen or switch user my session still be opened.
Is there a way to terminate the session when lock screen or switch user.
Be noted that it is free version from forticlient agent
Hi Hesham
As per my knowledge it is not intended to close the connection as long as your OS session is up.
You may need to use a your custom script to close the VPN connection on screen lock.
Hello AEK ,
Thanks for your reply and is really appreciated.
But is there KB or article confirm this.
i dont think such a KB or document exists, but usually people are the exact opposite and try to have or want to have the VPN connection UP while on screensaver/lockedscreen, switching users isnt even in question not the other way around.
Hi Hesham
I don't know such kb but I know this behavior is normal like for any other process, the OS doesn't shut it down on seasion lock while its owner didn't close the session. But the OS shuts it down when the session is closed.
What if I use idle timeout in ssl vpn setting to terminate the session is that may be fine.
Yes you can, but in order to work the tunnel must be unused for X seconds.
Let say I will make it 10 Seconds
I think switching users and lock screen will disconnect in that case. Am I right ?
Yes but there must be no VPN traffic for 10 minutes. E.g. you should close any ssh, http(s), ftp or other session to the remote VPN resources. Otherwise the traffic may continue to flow.
You mean 10 SEC
Yes I will ask customer to do so.
