Forticlient VPN stuck at 10%

Having trouble with this. I get that it indicates it's unable to connect.

The user was able to connect up until a few days ago.

I had them bring the device in and I connected no issue, so it doesn't seem to be a configuration issue with the client.

At the users home it stops at 10%. However, they can ping the firewall no problem, and they have reliable fast internet.

Suggestions for troubleshooting?

Have reinstalled, and tried a fresh install on a different device but the results are the same. My assumption is it has to be an issue with their internet service or equipment, but that's not really my area. (Starlink)

Appreciated.

Is this free FortiClient VPN or EMS?

Are you using non-standard port for connection?

Can you run a packet capture?

Dear @urushi ,

Configuring SSLVPN with FortiGate and FortiClient is pretty straightforward. Nevertheless, problems may occur while establishing or using the SSLVPN connection.

If the negotiation of SSLVPN stops at a specific percentage:

  • 10% – there is an issue with the network connection to the FortiGate. Verify that the client is connected to the internet and can reach FortiGate. Double-check that the FortiClient configuration has set the correct IP and port of the Fortigate.

Best Regards,

Vasil
