Forticlient Installer Issue

Hi,

I'm getting an error when I try to install Forticlient 5.2 on Windows 8.1 64bit. 

The installer rolls back after attempting to install drivers and then exits.

Any ideas what could be going wrong here?

Log4 shows this:

1: [12:38:23]: FCSetupWx: DIFx Event: 00000003 (Win32 Err = 00000000) Error 0x80070002 encountered while installing the inf 'C:\Windows\system32\DRVSTORE\ft_vnic_0378CADF20525E54944ED029AF0B5B75949F31B4\ft_vnic.inf'. Unable to install network component 'ft_vnic'

Maybe you can try removing everything about FortiClient in "Devices" and registry, reboot, run FCRemove just to be sure, then install again. FCRemove is in FortiClientTools zip file -> SupportUtils folder, if you have access to that file.

Where would I get access to the FortiClientTools zip file?

I was only able to locate the windows installer from the website.

You'll need a valid Fortinet support contract to access the site. It's under support.fortinet.com.

Under Download > Firmware Images, select FortiClient. Navigate to the version you want. Within that folder, you will find installers for all supported operating systems, as well as the FortiClient Tools.
