Forticlient Immediate disconnect

Hi,

 

I guess there are few other posts about this same topic - but they seem either to have been resolved - or are old - so appologies for repost.  Basic issue - I can't connect to my work VPN on forticlient SSL.  It looks like it connects - but a split second later it disconnects.  I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, older clients, repairing the installation, and quite a few other things. 

 

Details:

OS: Windows 8.1  (NB I think (?) I am on Windows 8.1 updated - which someone else said solved their problem - but no dice for me)

Forticlient 5.2.3.0633

 

NB I am able to connect on another laptop - which is running windows 7. 

One other thing - I did previously use Junos Pulse - which I believe screwed up some other people's connection in forticlient.
