Forticlient (EMS Cloud) for Android.

Dear colleagues,

Have any of you managed to register FortiClient in your EMS Cloud using the invitation code? I enter the correct invitation code (all in sequence and with capital letters only). After I entered the, I hope so, correct invitation code in FortiClient, the application minimizes and closes. As a result, it keeps writing that FortiClient is unlicensed and I do not have access to extended options, e.g. saving the password in the SSL VPN connection profile and Always-up connection feature. The FortiClient version is "FortiClient_v6.2.3-build0332-release.apk" downloaded from the support site in the FortiCloud panel. I will be very grateful for all hints. My Android version is 14.

Best regards,
Witek

Which EMS version?

My current EMS Cloud version is 7.2.4.0983. Interestingly, the app works flawlessly on the old Android 9, but it doesn't work on Android 14. I guess it's an issue with Forticlient 6.2.3. I give up trying it on latest Android system. IMHO the Forticlient app is bugged.

According to FortiClient EMS Compatibility Matrix, EMS 7.2.1+ is supported with FortiClient 7.0.2+ and 7.2.0+, it means it can work with FC your 6.x "at a certain point" but it is not supported and may not be compatible at 100%.

My advice is to install FC 7.2.x (latest patch) on your Android client.

Hope it helps.

Can you please help me to find a Forticient 7.2 version for Android platform? The latest version I was able to find is exactly 6.2.3. It is available in the Fortinet Service & Support site and in the Google Play store as well. I haven't seen newer version than this one anywhere else.

FC 7.2.4 for Android is available on play store.

Thank you for you hint, confirming that Forticlient 7.2 is also available for Android. I was unable to install it from Google Play Store. Perhaps in my geographical zone, which is Central Europe, it is still only 6.2.3 version available. But I downloaded the 7.2.4 version from the APKPure. Now 7.2.4 version works correctly for my EMS Cloud and accepts invitation code and the settings from the EMS as well on the Android 14 device.

Nice to hear that it worked.

Besides one should be very very careful with unofficial sources (APKPure and so). I personally never install from other than the official play store.

But what will you do if a given application is not available in the Play Store or there is an old version that is not fully compatible with the new Android OS as well as with EMS Cloud? What's worse only the old version 6.2.3 is available in my FortiCloud Support. Thanks to your advice I downloaded a new one from the APK Pure and scanned it with antivirus. The application is fine and works properly. Previously I thought the last version of Forticlient for Androis OS is just 6.2.3. I had no idea there is a later version, it was not available in the Play Store in my country nor in the Forticlud support site. I was so confused. I have to cope somehow in life ;)

I think this issue is due to compatibility problems between the app version and Android 14. Ensure that you’re using the latest version of FortiClient, as older builds may not fully support newer Android versions. Additionally, check if your EMS Cloud invitation code is still valid and correctly formatted. If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Fortinet support for troubleshooting. Avoid using unofficial or modified apps, such as a Spotify MOD APK, as they can cause system instability or interfere with app functionality.
