Forticlient 7.4.0142 will not display login screen on iPad iOS 15.8

I have a fleet of managed iPads that are older Air2s running iOS 15.8, and the recent update not only deleted all previous VPN configurations, it also no longer displays the login screen with the new configs. All of my other iPads are able to connect, it's just these older ones that cannot. It appears that it's trying to use SSO, even though that is deselected in the config. When they try to connect, this window appears

But tapping on OK results in this window:

They are never offered the regular login window to enter their username and password.

I have submitted a ticket but have yet to get a response, so thought I'd ask here ot see if anyone else is experiencing the same.

Hi together,

I can confirm this exact same behaviour on an iPad Mini 4 @iPad OS 15.8.3 with FortiClient and

FortiClientVPN App version. 7.4.1.0145.

I also noticed that the username is not being permanently saved in the VPN configuration profile - most likely it's being overriden due to the invisible fields being submitted empty.

Is there any update on this matter?

Hi,
Did you solve the problem?

IMHO, they chose to let ios 15.8 die to avoid solving the problem by forcing users
to change devices...

Nah, it just took them forever to figure out they screwed up and then fix it. The latest release, 7.4.2, resolves the issue.

They did, with a new update that came out in November. It fixed the login issue.

They fixed it in November with another release:

Just search for FortiClient in the App Store and it should show up.
