Forticlient 7.2.2 install on Linux Mint 21.2 Cinnamon [and Ubuntu 20.04+] (Solution provided)

At this time Fortinet's documentation for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS doesn't work for Linux Mint / Ubuntu straight from the box.

Fortinet's repository doesn't have 'non-free' folder.

To solve it use the following steps, with the necessary changes marked in green:

To install on Ubuntu / Mint 21.2 Cinnamon:
  1. Install the gpg key:

    wget -O - | gpg --dearmor | sudo tee /usr/share/keyrings/

  2. Create /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ with the following content:

    deb [arch=amd64 signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/] /stable multiverse

  3. Update package lists:

    sudo apt-get update

  4. Install FortiClient:

    sudo apt install forticlient

PS: As a matter of fact, these instructions are valid for Ubuntu / Debian, as the repository definition is the same.

Thanks for sharing, your findings will help others using this Linux distro.
