Forticamera FD-20 onvif

I've inherited a site that has a mish mash of different cameras all around the place including about 50 FD-20's (which appear to be pretty ancient)

We're standardising on Ubiquiti at the moment, so have an ENVR where the rest of our cameras live and the question has come up about integrating the existing cameras into the recorder

From what I can tell by the documentation and what I can see in the firmware, they should support ONVIF but I cannot for the life of me get them to work. I have FD-50's that adopted straight away

Has anyone managed to make them work? Is there a special trick?

I tried probing around for the URL for the onvif metadata but no luck and support just flat out doesn't respond...

Hello hamil,

I found a solution. Can you tell me if it helps, please?

To integrate FortiCamera FD-20 with your Ubiquiti NVR using ONVIF, follow these steps:

  1. Verify ONVIF Support: Ensure that the FortiCamera FD-20 is indeed ONVIF compliant. According to the documentation, it should support ONVIF 2.2.

  2. Check Firmware: Make sure the camera firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues.

  3. Network Configuration:
    - Ensure the camera is connected to the network and is accessible.
    - Verify that the camera is receiving an IP address from the DHCP server.

  4. ONVIF Configuration:
    - Access the camera's web interface using its IP address.
    - Navigate to the ONVIF settings and ensure that ONVIF is enabled.
    - Check if there are any specific settings or credentials required for ONVIF access.

  5. Ubiquiti NVR Configuration:
    - Access the Ubiquiti NVR interface.
    - Use the camera's IP address and ONVIF credentials to add the camera manually.
    - Ensure that the NVR is set to discover ONVIF devices.

  6. Troubleshooting:
    - Use an ONVIF device manager tool to discover and test the camera's ONVIF capabilities.
    - Check network settings, such as firewalls or VLANs, that might block communication between the camera and the NVR.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Fortinet support again or consulting the FortiRecorder Administration Guide for more detailed configuration instructions
