Fortiauthenticator necessary or not ?

We want to configure VPN IPSEC and MFA for my users on fortigate.

For that, it is neccessary to have Fortiauthenticator or not ?

you could use FortiAuthenticator, you can use EntraID/SAML if you have in your organization or FortiToken Cloud

its not mandatory and you can do MFA w/o it.
