FortiWifi 80CM wifi speed issue

Hello, i have a big trouble with fortiwifi 80CM, its a new product to me, I did the installation myself, only have default configurations.. I have a 20mb internet speed, and before to install this forti my download speed was arround 20mb and 23 mb, and my upload speed was around 20mb to, so I introduce a fortiwifi 80CM, and I create 2 new SSID for internet access point, but when Im connected via wifi, my connections decreased, somethimes 10mb download speed and 2 or 2 upload speed, I dont know whats wrong, If fortiwifi doesnt work like a access point or what ? please HELP MEEE!

How is physically LAN speed?  Have you tested the LAN speed using a computer connected directly to one of the internal ports?

On the CLI can you perform a diag hardware deviceinfo nic wan1 and check for any errors.  Note the duplex/speed reported by this command.  Basically, you are testing for possible duplex/speed mismatch between the 80CM and your WAN device.

If the WAN device is capable of 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps connection, try setting the Wan1 interface to match, eg.

config system interface edit "wan1" set speed 100full next end

If you edit the Wan1 interface, you can check the actual speed supported by the WAN device by pressing ? after set speed command.

Hi dave, i did that test, I connect a PC directly to a Internal port, and then I run the speedTest, the download was 20mb and upload 19mb speed. but when I connect the same PC to wireless network created inside fortiwifi, the download was 10 mb and upload 3mb speed. after, I connect a extra access point and the conneccions was cool! download 20bm and upload 19 mb speed, only the internal wifi gives me this poor result! : (

What is the firmware version on the FWF80?

What is the chipset on the device you are connecting to the FWF?

The reason I asked these pointed questions was that a while back, there was an issue with Atheros chipsets and certain FortiWiFi chipsets. I don't recall exactly which ones on the Fortinet side.

Is the wifi interface merged with the LAN (e.g. soft switch)?  If so that could be a problem -- in a soft switch implementation the Fgt's own CPU has to move/copy information between the port members.  What AP profile is assigned to the built-in radio?

Hi, my Name is David and I'm from Córdoba, Argentina, this is my first post. First of all, sorry for my bad english. Now, i'll try to do a brief explaination of my/our situation.

The company I work for does have a FW80CM also (Firmware  Version v5.0 build 0271 (GA Patch 6). Recently we've received a RMA replacement for the unit (after waiting 8 months), it's all working great, except for the WiFi...

Users can connect correctly (it's mainly used by smartphone users and just for browse the internet and use apps), but after that, navigation is extremely slow, and for times, almost null (ping is always responding, for example from Google DNS 8.8.8.8, but the delay vary a lot).

We have 4 ISPs, two of them are used for all the LAN traffic, and the other two, for WiFi and WiFi Guests (another WiFi interface with captive portal configured). We've configured Weighted Load Balancing for the LAN traffic, balancing 70% through WAN2 and 30% through WAN1, the other WAN-configured-interfaces (internal 4 & 6) has 0% on this configuration, the traffic is just permitted by policies. LAN and WiFi (main WiFi, not Guest) belong to differents IP segments (X.X.30.0 & X.X.40.0), traffic between them is permitted by policies.

I've tried to add internal 4 & 6 to the Weighted Load Balance configuration, thinking that this may be the cause; first with 15% each, and then with 5% (and respectively decreasing the other WAN interaces percentages to obtain 100% overall), but we note no improvements at all. I've also tried to force the WiFi traffic (by adding a Policy Route) to use WAN1 or 2 (which belong to "better" internet connections), but nothing got better.
