Hello,
Recently, our FortiWeb appliance started saying 'License has been uploaded. Please wait a few seconds for license authentication with Fortinet registration servers. Requires Internet connection.'
I am not able to get past this message. Fortinet support won't help since we don't have an active service contract.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to force the license to authentication with the Fortinet Registration servers?
Thanks,
James

I have the same issue and opened a support ticket.
The tech told me Fortinet had upgraded their licensing registration servers and the older firmware versions are no-longer able to authenticate on the new servers.
He said there are no workarounds and the only fix is to upgrade the firmware on the FortiWeb using SSH and a TFTP server. He sent this link for the SSH/TFTP process: https://kb.fortinet.com/kb/documentLink.do?externalID=FD45328
Good luck,
Garrett
Hi,
Please see the explanation in CSB-200528-1 at https://support.fortinet.com/Information/Bulletin.aspx
Solution is to upgrade the firmware to versions 5.5.7, 5.6.2, 5.7.3, 5.8.7, 5.9.1 or later; the latest version (currently 6.3.7) is always recommended.
Regards,
Ondrej
