FortiSwitch standalone offline
i just changed my FortiSwitch to standalone because I replaced an old fortigate firewall to a new one. I maintained the same configuration no vlan just hardware switch network. I’m not using Fortilink port so the switch is standalone mode. It’s working but it does not show up on FortiSwitch and even if it does it shows offline. How can I make it appear and online without using Fortilink?
thx

Hi @Staphisco - As far as I know, if your FortiSwitch is not part of FortiLink, you cannot manage it directly from your FortiGate firewall. So, FortiSwitch managed by FortiGate must be part of FortiLink.
Since it's standalone, you need to manage it directly through its web interface. If your goal is to manage it on FortiGate, I think it would be better to remove that interface from the hardware switch members and move it to FortiLink, so you could also maximize the use of these features.

Hi @Staphisco - Yes, it will essentially become a separate network, so you'll need to allow it on the FortiGate depending on your configuration. Where are you getting your DHCP from, is it also from the FortiGate?
You might try making the hardware switch a FortiLink member directly to avoid too many adjustments.

So you are saying to move all the ports on the hardware switch and put them in the fortilink interface?
