I'm trying to work on some scenarios in my lab with KVM , but fortiOS 7.4.3 generates wrong serial number and i can't register virtual device on my account!
does anyone have same issue o any solution to fix the problem?
thanks

it's so strange but (it seems something was wrong during UUID generation of appliance by KVM) after rebooting my server and changing the image (fresh download v7.4.3), the license registration process worked well!
Hello @m3ds0 ,
Do you have a valid license or want to try FortiGate on eval mode?
If you want to try FortiGate you need to use the name that starts with FGT_VM64_KVM image for KVM do not use the name that starts with FFW_VM64_KVM.
Hello, @ozkanaltas
I want to use eval license and I'm using the correct image but the appliance generates wrong serial number
Hello @m3ds0 ,
How do you do the registration process? On Fortigate or FortiSupport web site?
You can follow this document for how to activate the eval license.
https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/7.4.3/administration-guide/441460
Btw, If you have a 1 eval license in your account, Fortinet does not permit a second one.
I've tried 2 methods and result was same (Invalid Serial number), although I've removed (decommissioned ) my VM appliance from FortiSupport and result was same!
Hello @m3ds0 ,
The decommission unit doesn't work. Because you have already eval license on your account.
Can you share "get system status" command output with us?
I've created a new account to check if it's about my eval license but get the same error on new account!

Hello @m3ds0 ,
This device can access Fortiguard IPs, right?
Also, Can you try to download the license file from your support account and upload this Fortigate? If it does not work the last option is to delete the virtual machine and deploy again.
Yes the device can access Fortiguard IPs, the problem is i can't register device serial number in my account(then download license file ), which tells me (invalid input) and the problem is serial number generated by the appliance, I've removed and recreated VM 3 or 4 times and result was same!
But when i create the VM with vmware workstation or fusion there is no problem!
In my lab i'm using KVM (qemu).
