Hi Team,
Just wanting to confirm a feature behavior for FMG. The add mappings for all unused device interfaces feature, what does this actually do? In this example given by Forti in the training, port1 is mapped to WAN, port3 is mapped to WAN
What about the remaining interfaces? Are they just mapped port2 -> port2, port4 -> port4 and so on?
Cheers,
Peter

Fortimanager Policy & Objects deals with the Normalized Interfaces (mapped interfaces).
The unused interfaces means that these interfaces are not referenced by any policy yet. And yes the mapping will be the same name of the interface. If you choose Not to create the mapping, when you need to use them in the future they will not appear in the src/dst list unless you do a manual mapping for them. So better to keep that option on
