FortiManager 100 and Fortigate 224B
Hello.
In my previous job, I was forced to use FortiGate. Without experience, it was hard. I was able to buy a used FortiGate 224B (black), play with it and mess up the configuration. This taught me to make copies of the configuration once I had configured the device sufficiently. My fortigate has soft 4.0MR3 and has no support. However, I still learn a lot from it.
I ordered an old FortiManager 100 for the set to see what the device is used for. It happens to be old enough to support my FortiGate. I'm just having trouble finding documentation for it.
Can I get a link or information on how to look for it?
For real learning, I want to go on a commercial course organized by the university. But first I need to earn money for it. So at the current time, I work on what I have.
Regards

Fortigate 4.0MR3 but I have no idea what will I get with FortiManager. It was just shipped to me. I did some research and with my FG only this old FM will work.

Hello @mich4u ,
I found a handbook compatible with your Fortigate version. You can download on the below link.
In my opinion, these devices are too old. The new FortiOS versions are very different than yours. They have a lot of new features.
My advice is if you have a virtual environment (VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper-V, KVM, etc.). You can register "support.fortinet.com" for free. After that, you can download and use a trial version of Fortigate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
If you want more information about the trial version of these devices. You can review these documents.

Hi @ozkanaltas,
Today I configured Fortigate 60E based on knowledge learned from 224B. I know it is old, but I really like it. The firmware is buggy, but it allows me to understand the basics. In my previous job, we had an old FG with D in the end. It was also nice hardware, and it was not in use. I need to finish a GNS course to start working with Forti VM because, at the moment, I don't know how to use it.

FortiGate 60-ADSL
FortiGate-100A
FortiGate-200A
FortiGate-224B
FortiGate-300A
FortiGate-400A
FortiGate-500A
FortiGate-800/800F
FortiGate-1000
FortiGate-1000A/FA2
FortiGate-3000
FortiGate-3600
FortiGate-3600A
FortiGate-5001 SX / FA2
FortiGate-5005FA2
FortiClient PC
I would also want to find some old FortiAP to be able to connect with this device.
One day I will earn more money and will be able to buy some newer FortiGate for my LAB. At the moment I have mostly old stuff.
Maybe I will convert it to museum some day.

FortiManager had a corrupted hard drive. It was possible to turn it on but nothing could be done further. I feel very bad that I have to send it back, but there is no way to find firmware for such old hardware yet. I had hoped that the disk would work at least enough to manage to learn a little, and so only a virtual machine remains. I was very sad when the hardware arrived and turned out to be broken.
