FortiMail for Dual Mail Server Routing
Hello,
I am currently using Kerio Connect as my mail server, with all users stored in a local database.
I have now installed Exchange Server 2019, and it is functioning properly for sending and receiving emails.
Both servers use the same domain: @XXXX.xx.
Currently, FortiMail is configured to point to the Kerio server's IP address, and everything works as expected. However, when I change the IP address in FortiMail to point to the Exchange server, the Exchange-side mail flow operates normally.
Is it possible to configure FortiMail to recognize and forward emails to both servers based on recipient email addresses? For example:
Emails sent to user1@xxxx.xx and user2@xxxx.xx should be forwarded to the Kerio server.
Emails sent to test1@xxxx.xx and test2@xxxx.xx should be forwarded to the Exchange server.
If such a setup is possible, could you guide me on how to configure it? Specifically:
1. Can this be achieved using FortiMail policies?
2. Should I list both server IPs under the domain settings in FortiMail? If yes, how should this be configured?
I am using FortiMail 400F with firmware version 7.4.2 in Gateway Mode.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Sam
As per my knowledge you can't route mails to some server based on recipient.
I remember we could achieve such requirement at mail server level, i.e.: FML forwards all mails to server1, then server1 forwards the mails with specific recipients to server2.
Hope it helps.

Hi Sam,
You can do it with FML with MSSP license.

Didn't know that, thanks for updating my knowledge.
But can anyone buy a MSSP license or only MSSP partners can do?

Thank you.
I believe there must be a way to do this without an MSSP license. If anyone knows about this, could they please help?

I had a look again but I couldn't find such feature on non-MSSP license.

Thank you, everyone
We resolved the issue by configuring relay between the servers
