FortiMail doesn't send quarantine reports

Dear community,

I've just spent few hours on my quarantine report, but it still doesn't work. I mean users don't receive the quarantine report. We have Fortimail 60D with firmware v6.0,build126,181026 (6.0.3 GA) in transparent mode. Our email server is Exchange 2007 (going to migrate to 2016).

The configuration:

1) Domain & User - Domain - MyDomain.com - edit - recipient address verification we use LDAP with "user alias / address mapping profile" in LDAP options.

2) Domain & User - Domain - MyDomain.com - edit - advanced settings - quarantine report settings original recipient checked, time scheduled, default domain template selected. I also set "from" sender address and "envelope from" text.

3) monitor - quarantine I can see quarantine mailboxes for each user who has a spam in his quarantine mailbox.

4) Policy - recipient - edit (we have only one active) - resource policy - edit  Send quarantine report is selected under personal quarantine

5) system - mail server settings Local domain name is set to "MyDomain.com"

But he quarantine report doesn't arrive to user mailbox.

When I check monitor - log - mail event, I can see the events:

"Spamreport: found 1 Messages for User:&nbsp MyName@MyDomain.com to (MyName@MyDomain.com)"

"to=MyName@MyDomain.com, delay=00:00:06, xdelay=00:00:05, mailer=esmtp, pri=0, relay=[192.168.1.2] [192.168.1.2], dsn=5.6.0, stat=Data format error(Reason:501 5.1.7 Invalid address)"

What invalid address? Where can I set correct sender address? Or it's some SMTP authentication?

Best regards,

Jaroslav

Hi guys,

I found cause of the error. It's not about Fortimail, but it's Exchange 2007 Error. If you migrate from E2000 or E2003 to E2007, your receive connector has no default domain. It's not causing any issue, but Fortimail (or other 3rd party service) can return 501 5.1.7 Invalid address.

Here is the solution: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/944302/3rd-party-application-or-mail-server-may-fail-to-sen...

Regards,

Jaroslav
