FortiLink Migration: Will Access Switch Configurations Persist When Connecting to a New Distribution

In my environment, a FortiGate currently manages both distribution and access FortiSwitches via FortiLink. I need to replace the distribution switches with a different model. If I create a new FortiLink interface for the new distribution switches and then connect the existing access switches to this new FortiLink, will the FortiGate preserve their configuration and policies?
