Are you using Vista as the machine to upload the Firmware from? If you are this seems to be an intermittent problem with Vista actually and running TFTP servers from it. I have seen this happen on various appliances and not just FortiNet when using TFTP from Vista. Try running the upload from an XP or Windows 7 machine it should work straight away and not get this issue. This is another reason why I loathe Vista....

Did you check the MD5 checksum of the download with the MD5 sum list? chances are that you have corrupted downloads. Furthermore I would recommend formatting the flash first. A last remark, I hope you use build 413 only for compatibility reasons with the current config and afterwards you' ll upgrade at least to 3.0 MR7p8 Cheers, Eric

Thx Eric the md5 checksum is exactly the same: 3fb1b75daaa99847245df1f0e590f699 *FGT_50B-v300-build0413-FORTINET.out build 413 was just to get the unit operational again.
