We have a customer consolidating two offices into one. Both sites have operational FortiGate 40F units with active licenses. My question is, can I take the firewall from Site B and add it to Site A as a high availability unit? Figured it'd be a better use case for it than sitting on the shelf. Thanks!

I haven't heard different hardware revisions in 40Fs so far. So HA should work between them. But I would confirm that by opening a ticket at TAC and giving them two S/Ns.

Hi hinbojega,
If the below parameters are same on both devices then HA can be configured on fortigate devices and it should work.
>> FortiGate hardware model with the same FortiOS firmware build installed
>> Should be running in the same operating mode (NAT/Route mode or Transparent mode).
>> The licenses should be same on both devices.
>> If the FortiGate unit has a hard disk, it should be present on both nodes of cluster.
