FortiGate-VM evaluation license register issues "curl forticare failed, 43"
FGT_VM64_KVM-v7.4.0.F-build2360-FORTINET.out.kvm
I downloaded this, but I can't register its evaluation license.
I got a message like the one below.
Requesting FortiCare Trial license, proxy:(null)
curl forticare failed, 43
I couldn't find the meaning of the error phrase anywhere.
Please help me.

Hi ,
The error message you are receiving when trying to register the FortiGate-VM evaluation license ("curl forticare failed, 43") indicates that there is an issue with the curl command used to communicate with the FortiCare licensing server.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Check your network settings: Make sure that your FortiGate-VM is able to connect to the internet and that there are no network issues or firewalls blocking the connection.
2. Check your curl settings: Verify that the curl command is correctly configured on your FortiGate-VM. You can try running a different curl command to test the connection, such as "curl http://www.google.com".
3. Try a different license file: If the issue persists, try downloading a different evaluation license file from the Fortinet support website and see if you are able to register it successfully.
4. Contact Fortinet support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact Fortinet support for further assistance.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions or if there's anything else I can assist you with.

Hi,
Please refer to the instructions from the below article on how to obtain and activate FortiGate VM Permanent Trial License.
https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/7.2.4/administration-guide/441460
We also see that this file:- FGT_VM64_KVM-v7.4.0.F-build2360-FORTINET.out.kvm is for Forti firewall. Please click on download for "New deployment of FortiGate" at the bottom of the download page.
Let me know if this helps.

I was able to get the below version working easily.
FGT_VM64_KVM-v7.0.10.M-build0450-FORTINET.out.kvm
I didn't get a perpetual license with limited functionality, I got a 15-day term license.
I didn't have to register a license specifically to get it to work.
However, I still needed license authentication to use the version below, and I couldn't get a license for limited functions.
FGT_VM64_KVM-v7.2.4.F-build1396-FORTINET.out.kvm
I think that I can try 2 more methods.
1. Upgrade to the latest GNS3
2. Authenticate with my new FortiCloud account
I'll close the ticket. Thank you all.
