FortiGate Multiple Router ID
Hi,
Is it possible for FortiGate to have a multiple router ID? My plan is to set up BGP over IPSEC tunnel.
Thank you!

Hi @heyyo ,
I am not sure what you mean. However, in a BGP autonomous system, the FGT device has to use the same router ID.
I believe that this is the same for all vendors as long as they follow the BGP RFCs.

Does this mean that FortiGate can only have one router-id?

Is there any reason you need to use different Router IDs for this FGT device?

Hello @heyyo
As I know. No, a FortiGate cannot have multiple router IDs for a single routing protocol instance like OSPF or BGP. Each routing protocol instance is designed to use a single, unique router ID for identification within the network topology.
Thanks,
Pavan
