FortiGate HA vs. licences

We are about to buy a bundle license (WebFiltering, IPS etc.) for our HA cluster. And the question is - do we need to buy licenses for each unit in cluster or just one per entire cluster? Gabriel

Hi, You need to buy for each cluster member. 2 FortiGates = 2 licenses.

When you purchase, tell them you' re going to cluster. I believe (don' t hold me to it) you may get a discount for that configuration. YMMV

I never heard of them giving a discount but you can shop around. Just remember you need the same license features for each member of the cluster (e.g AV/WEB/IPS )
