FortiGate Commands to check parameters for FortiAPs
Are there any specific commands that I can run on a FortiGate to check the following parameters of the FortiAPs associated with the FG:
Number of APs associated
Number of SSIDs
Number of Users/devices connected per SSID
Total Number of Clients

This SNMP queries can be done directly to FGT (no need to have network reachability to the APs). More detailed information can be found on the MIB file that can be downloaded from the FGT and open via a MIB browser or importing it to a monitoring system. The thread I have shared above include an example OID that you can use as a start.

Why would you want to do this from CLI? Why not from the GUI or (better yet) from FortiManager?

We plan to query the Fortigate for this information rather than the FMG.
But , I am curious as to how would I do it through the FMG and query it through there for our internal monitoring teams

You can use the commands for the WLC, # diag wireless-controller wlac ... like for example:
# diag wireless-controller wlac list-vap
Getting this information via SNMP queries may be easier, more information can be found on this thread.

Yeah exactly SNMP or FortiManager are FAR better ways to do this than using CLI.

I dont know if I will be able to use SNMP as the VLAN we are using for the APs is not being routed/advertised.
And I dont seem to find a document which provides these queries by using the SNMP polling to the FG rather than the APs.
If there is a document showing SNMP polling to the FG to get this information, please do let me know.
