FortiGate 81F storage uses
Hi,
I would like to know what the use cases are for the 128GB SSD internal storage?
The 81F is a £400 premium over the 81F.
Kind regards
Tony

Hi,
You mean 81F over 80F ?
Well, if you want to store logs for a longer duration and don't have FortiAnalyzer ( VM / physical / Cloud ) , you could store them locally on the HDD.
You also have the option to store the logs in memory, but those will be lost at a reboot and the space for them is quite limited.

Hi, having ssd enables you to:
- store logs long time
- generate reports from those logs
- see Fortiview dashboard results back up to a week, instead of just real time.
- use DLP
- use Wan Optimization (rather exotic feature IMO)
