FortiGate 81E won't boot

Hi All,

I was setting up 81E for our client and for some reason the OS failed to boot up and when i tried to re-image the box it wouldn't go any further than image integrity checking phase. I have tried multiple TFTP servers & images but no luck.

Has anyone came across this kind of issue or knows a workaround?

Thanks in advance.

Hi yforti,

Did you tried to do an HQIP?

No I haven’t because I think I will face the same roadblock as it requires to upload an image file as well.

In this case, an RMA should be opened

Reformat the flash first, through boot menu. Then upload the image.

As the FGT has already confirmed that the transfer was OK it might be that the flash hardware or filesystem is corrupt.

I once had trouble with the TFTP software I used; since, I've been using Phil Jounot's TFTP64 without any trouble.

Hey ede_pfau, I did format the flash first and using the same TFTP server from Phil Jounot's but it didn't help. Anyways RMA has been approved and new box is shipped by Fortinet so just waiting on that now.

Thanks for your input though.
