FortiGate 7.4.8 - FortiSwitch Ports, view is screwed

Since upgrading FortiGate to 7.4.8, the "FortiSwitch Ports" section is totally screwed.

It sorts the switches based on god knows what and if there are a lot of switches, it lags out when using the search field.

Also, it is no longer possible to edit the description of multiple ports at once.

Is anybody else experiencing these issues and is there anyway of reporting this to the devs, so that the old view is restored (since this worked with 7.4.7 and downwards)?

Hi @jfridolf-iver ,

Is there any chance that you can share me screenshots of before/after the upgrade? I'd like to see the differences between them, then I would check further.

Regards,

Harry

I don't have screenshots from any of my 3 Fortigates as I've upgraded all of them at the same time, but current looks identical to the previous poster's screenshot now.

Also, don't have screenshot of the search highlight, but I'm sure others are noticing that feature is gone as well.

Thanks for your info, @csheward

I used to have an option at the top of the switch list, however I don't remember exactly how it looked.

I do however remember exactly how the search highlight looked.

Thanks again @csheward , I will do some tests and will inform you if finding any good news.

Same here on 7.4.9

Cannot find a way to change the sort.

Also, in addition when you use the search feature, the results aren't highlighted any more.

Hi csheward,

Thanks for the details.

In v7.4.7, when you use the search box it both:

  • Filters the rows to show only entries matching the keyword, and

  • Highlights the matching text.

In later versions, the behavior changed:

  • The search box still highlights matching keywords,

  • But it no longer automatically filters the rows, so all entries remain visible and it can look like the search “isn’t working” at first glance.

To get a similar result to the old behavior, it’s more reliable to:

  1. First use the filter icon (the “+” icon to the right of the search box) with a general keyword to narrow down the rows.

  2. Then use the search box again with a more specific keyword.

This combination will show you the expected entries and make it easier to find exactly what you’re looking for (Refer the attached screenshot)

Regards,

Harry
