FortiGate 60C

Looks like they are ready to release the FGT-60C, and in the release notes i see two lines: SDHC (Class 6 or higher) 4 GB or higher for logging capabilities SDHC (Class 6 or higher) 16 GB or higher for WAN optimization i believe it will support SD (Secure Digital) memory cards, for these features ! WEEEHOO ! They have also released a new software - FortiExplorer, and it is for quick setup via a USB cable directly connected to the FG-60C i found all this in the MR1 Patch4 directory on their FTP site.

Our distributor had a bunch of regular boxes already... and they came quiet well for that project... But this is really new for Fortinet, launching a product this way... and not waiting month for it after presentation...

I' ll send you the Austrian list prices in a private message... What I really like: There is no fan in it, like in the old 60B and not like the 80C, which is very loud! cheers.roman

The biggest advantage to using the flash cards is no moving parts. Had lots of problems over the years with log disks, especially on the FG800 series.

the downside is that i havent found a SD card with more than 32 GB, maybe i can find a SD card with a USB slot connected to it, and then hook up a external USB HD

I don' t think you would need that for WanOpt ... and 3-4G for logging should be really enough on a small box.

hehe, have you tried the wanopt ? is it any good ? we have been selling riverbed and expand boxes, but they are a bit pricy,

So.... I just received 3 pieces and they are really cute! Just the size of a 50B, terrible looking white/green front [:' (] !!! There is a 4GB SDHC card already installed, so logging already works fine! FortiExplores did the job to configure some basic parameters within seconds!! There is a WanOpt menu shown in the GUI (even with the 4GB card installed) -> so the box is WanOpt capable... Performance of WebGUI with the installed 4.1 is very good... just like with boxes >=110C! I only had 10minutes to have a short look... But when I receive the 16GB SDHC cards, we will do some serious testing here! regards, Roman
