FortiGate 401E 7.0.4 fork() failed: (12)Cannot allocate memory

After update firmware to 7.0.4 I try to see GUI dashboard widget "Firewall Users" and device down with error "Failed ti retrieve info". In ssh console after same minutes

# diagnose sys top
[sys_top:559] fork() failed: (12)Cannot allocate memory

and not answer.

In com-port connect console:

fork() failed
fork() failed
fork() failed
fork() failed
fork() failed

https debug not show nothing, it stoped after open page with widget "Firewall Users"

Hi,

Can you please try to reboot the FGT and check again?

> C195FW001 # diag sys top
[sys_top:560] fork() failed: (12)Cannot allocate memory

Regarding this error message, please run the command #diag sys top-summary & whichever, process is consuming high memory then kill it as the following.

#diag sys kill 99 <process_id>

How to interpret the process_id, please review the below kb article on it.

If your fortigate is a low-end series model, it may not have enough memory to run the firmware.

Check also the "diag sys flash list" - you should see at least 10% available space for the active partition (the one with "Yes")
