FortiGate 20C Console Port

While upgrading the firmware in my FortiGate 20c it became stuck at boot. When powered on the status light never stops blinking. I have read a number of ways to try and get around this issue, but all mention connecting to the console. When I plug in my USB cord to the USB mgmt port and try and access it with FortiExplorer it does not see the device. I have read ways to get around that but they all mentioned plugging the console cable from the serial port on a PC to the console port on my FortiGate. The 20C does not have a port marked as console that the cable will fit in. Do any of the LAN or WAN ports double as console ports? Is there any other way to get to the CLI besides USB? Thanks!

20C can only be used with FortiExplorer. I would make sure there aren' t any device driver issues with your OS, ie look for unidentified devices in device manager etc, but it may also be the unit is toast. :) If you are still stuck, on the back of device there is a small pinhole between the power and the " lock" , insert a paper clip or similar for 5 seconds and it should reset to factory defaults.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried more than one PC but not gotten anywhere with USB. I have reset with the button and it seems to respond but goes right back to booting. Afraid it might be bricked. Thanks again.

I had the same issue with a 20C, and the other posts are correct. No serial cable access. Had to send back to FortiNet for replacement.
