FortiEndpoint Installation

I am starting the planning for the implementation of FortiEndpoint - XDR (FC1-10-EMS05-1041-02-60). The solution will be used on OT servers. These servers use legacy operating systems such as Windows XP and Windows 7, etc... We have not contracted any other services for this client, only FortiEndpoint - XDR and BPS for the aforementioned PN. Is it possible to use the XDR functionalities of FortiEndpoint in this environment?

To install FortiEndpoint, follow these steps:

1. Initial Assessments and Considerations:

   • Uninstall any existing FortiClient or FortiEDR software on the endpoint/PC before proceeding with the FortiEndpoint installation.
   • Ensure there are no active Group Policy Objects (GPOs) from previous FortiClient or FortiEDR installations.

2. Features Available on the Packet Install:

   • From the EMS-Server-Cloud, select the FortiClient Installer name, required version, OS, and invitation settings.
   • Customize the required features and add FortiEDR if needed.

3. Deployment Options:

   • Download the installer. The initial deployment can be done manually, via GPO, MDM, or by sending the installation link to users.

4. Installation Process:

   • Use the EMS-created installer to install FortiClient integrated with the FortiEDR agent. This unified installer will install both FortiClient and FortiEDR components on the endpoint.
