Can anybody please share all the extra security features you get when using FortiEDR on an iOS/iPadOS device? With iOS already being locked down pretty tight, is it basically just URL and Web Security scanning? Does it scan files/links clicked in an email prior to opening? Just looking for all the "extra" or "added" security features you get when putting this product on an iPhone or iPad. Thanks for the information.

Hello again forti25,
I found this solution. Can you tell me if it helps, please?
FortiEDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) provides several security features for iOS/iPadOS devices, enhancing the existing security measures that Apple has implemented. While iOS is indeed a tightly controlled environment, FortiEDR adds layers of protection that can be beneficial. Here are some of the key features and capabilities you might expect:
Threat Detection and Response: FortiEDR continuously monitors for suspicious activities and potential threats, providing real-time alerts and response capabilities.
URL Filtering: FortiEDR can scan URLs accessed through web browsers and applications, blocking access to known malicious sites and preventing phishing attempts.
Web Security: Similar to URL filtering, it can protect against web-based threats, helping to secure browsing sessions.
File and Link Scanning: While iOS does have built-in security features, FortiEDR can provide additional scanning for files and links clicked in emails or other applications, helping to detect malicious content before it is opened.
Behavioral Analysis: FortiEDR can analyze the behavior of applications and processes, looking for anomalies that could indicate a compromise or malicious activity.
Integration with Other Fortinet Products: If your organization uses other Fortinet security solutions, FortiEDR can integrate with them to provide comprehensive security across the network, enhancing visibility and response capabilities.
Centralized Management: FortiEDR allows for centralized management of security policies and configurations, making it easier to enforce security measures across all devices, including iOS/iPadOS.
Incident Response Capabilities: In the event of a detected threat, FortiEDR provides tools for incident response, allowing security teams to investigate and remediate issues quickly.
Data Loss Prevention (DLP): Depending on the configuration, FortiEDR can help prevent unauthorized data access or transmission from iOS devices.
While iOS devices are designed with security in mind, adding FortiEDR can help enhance protection against sophisticated threats and provide more granular control and visibility. For specific details and capabilities, it’s always a good idea to consult Fortinet's official documentation or support resources.
