FortiClient default tab configuration does not work

On Windows 7 I've installed the FortiClient 6.0.2.0128. In the advanced settings I chose "Remote Zugriff" (Englisch: "Remote access"?) as "standard Tab" ("Default tab"?). I expect that - after restarting the client - the tab "Remote access" is highlighted and I see the VPN user/password form. But I still see the Complience tab.

Is my expectation wrong? Or do I do something wrong? Or is it just a bug?

Ah I understand what you're trying to do. How about connecting via the CLI rather than the GUI as that's easier to script? I've had a quick search and it's supported using the SSL .exe so you might be able to do the same using forticlient.exe

/opt/forticlient-sslvpn/64bit/forticlientsslvpn_cli connect --server test.com.au:443 --vpnuser

Sorry, where networks are concerned I'm a layman.

The only thing I have is the IP address of the target network and this works for me.

Why the need to hit 'Remote Access' tab first. Right clicking on the FortiClient taskbar icon brings up a list of available VPN connections. It's quicker than loading up the FC Console.

Nice idea, but I don't like using the mouse and I try to do the most actions with the keyboard. Starting a program from the Windows Start button via keyboard is easy, but unfortunately the FortinetClient doesn't really support keyboard navigation, so it's not possible to change the tab to "remote access" via keyboard.

Instead of starting the client with the focus on the "remote access" tab, it would be good, if I could navigate between the tabs via any key press (i.e. "arrow down" or "tab"). This also could help, since I use the password tool "Keypass" which enters my username and password automatically, but it needs keyboard commands to work properly.

Perhaps I can find out how to access the windows task bar via keyboard.

It's nice that the focus is on the "username" input field when acessing the "remote access" tab via windows task bar icon. When I start the client and click on "remote access", the focus is somewhere else and I have to press "tab" three times to set the focus there.

Yeah, that's something I also found in the net, but in my windows version there's no forticlientsslvpn_cli.exe or something similar. I tried out all .exe files but none of them seemed to do what I want.

Following executables are installed in my Fortinet directory:

The FortiSSLVPNclient.exe is available as part of the FortiClientTools package. I've just downloaded it and it's in there.

Yeeeeaaaah! That's it!

It's better and also faster than the other client.

Many Thx.

Can you connect to an IPsec service using that exe?
