FortiClient VPN Not working on Windows 11

I have just installed Windows 11 on my desktop PC and installed FortiClient v7.0.9.

I have steup my FortiClient app the same way as it was on Windows 10 but it is not working. I just get a failed to connect check your internet and VPN pre-shared key message.

It works fine on my Windows 11 Laptop though?

Anyone else had this and can offer any advise?

Hi there,

There is some cases where Window 11 cannot work with FortiClient accordingly. Can you please try with wifi or download this window driver 10.59.20 if you are using Realtek adapter https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo/category/network-interface-controllers-10-100-1000m-gigabit...

Regards,

Hi, same problem with a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 with default Windows 11 drivers.

The integrated network adapter is Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201.

I downloaded the latest drivers from Intel support and it worked fine!

The same problem exists with Lenovo T14/P14 laptops, when USB-C NIC is used. No problems with WiFi/ethernet port. The NIC is Intel I219-LM.

Was having an issue with new install of Windows 11 Pro 24H2.  Latest 7.4 VPN Client.  My symptoms were that when clicking connect the program would hang and not connect at all.  The progress count would not start.  For anyone having these specific symptoms, I was missing the latest C++ redistributable package.  Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn  I uninstalled the client, installed C++ and reinstalled the client and everything was fine.  This was of course after following the above answers in this thread about updating drivers, but this was my issue.  The VPN client installer does not list C++ as a prerequisite.  Creds due to ronca-cp on reddit who suggested this solution.
