Hello,
I'm new here! I use this software to connect to a VPN set up by a client of mine. I've used it for months now and was on version 5.6.6 and just today updated to 6.0. With both software versions it seems that recently the 'Received Bytes' has skyrocketed and is killing my bandwidth. I understand a VPN inherently uses a little more data than without one but in the past couple weeks I've been receiving over 2GB of data within an hour and a half without any real strenuous activity or large data consuming tasks being done on my end. This is opposed to the usual 1/3 to 1/2 of a GB I'd normally use over a much longer time.
Would this happen to be a common issue at the moment or are their any settings I could tweak to reduce the amount of data I'm consuming while connected? I need to use this VPN to connect to a Citrix server multiple times a day so I'd rather just stay on it all day if I could rather than reconnecting all the time but at the moment my IT will not allow it if it's using this much data.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. If you need any more information I'd be glad to provide details.
Thank you for your time.
I would suggest running a packet capture such as Wireshark to see exactly what is coming in. You mentioned that this is a client's VPN right? It may be possible that they started full-tunneling all of your traffic through them without you knowing it. Are you familiar with that concept?
